Billboard Lighting Ceremony Held on the 30th
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province has initiated a shift toward "visible administration" by operating a "super-large media electronic billboard" that is set to transform the face of the city center.
On December 30, Yangsan City held a "City Promotion Media Electronic Billboard Lighting Ceremony" at the entrance of the city hall's civil service office and began the trial operation of the city promotion media electronic billboard.
This lighting ceremony was organized to commemorate the first lighting of the media billboard for city promotion and to share future operational plans.
The city promotion media electronic billboard is intended to deliver key municipal policies and daily life information to citizens in a more accessible and intuitive manner. In particular, it will serve as an effective promotional platform for communicating Yangsan City's major visions and messages, such as the "30th Anniversary of City Status in 2026" and the "2026 Year of Visiting Yangsan."
During the event, a lighting performance for the billboard was held, along with the screening of two self-produced 3D content pieces featuring Yangsan’s tourism mascot.
The first content was a promotional video introducing Yangsan's major attractions through the tourism mascot, showcasing representative locations such as Hwangsan Park in a friendly manner. The second content was a clock-type 3D animation that announces the top of each hour, designed to introduce key city images of Yangsan via the billboard.
Starting with this lighting, Yangsan City will conduct a trial operation for about three weeks, during which it will comprehensively inspect the billboard’s operational status, content display methods, and actual visibility on-site. Based on the results of the trial, the city plans to establish a stable operational system.
Additionally, the city will first install and operate the media billboard at the city hall to enhance the image of Yangsan as a smart city, and then gradually expand installation to locations that are more easily accessible to citizens.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "We will continue to improve the media billboard so that it naturally connects citizens with municipal administration in their daily lives and becomes a space for communication that broadens understanding and empathy toward city governance."
