Yeongju City Receives 33 Institutional Awards in 2025

Achievements Recognized Across All Sectors, Including Economy, Investment, Administration, Health, Safety, and Agriculture

Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk announced on December 31 that it had been recognized externally for its achievements in advancing regional development and improving the quality of life for citizens throughout 2025, earning a total of 33 institutional awards.


This record includes 25 commendations from central government ministries and Gyeongsangbuk-do, as well as 8 from external organizations such as the Korean Nurses Association. The city achieved balanced results across major policies directly related to citizens' lives, including the economy and industry, investment attraction, local administration, health and welfare, safety, and agriculture.


In the economy and industry sector, the city won the Encouragement Award in the Gyeongsangbuk-do Local Economy Revitalization Assessment for the fourth consecutive year and received the Excellence Award in the 2025 Local Government Social Economy Policy Evaluation hosted by the National Social Economy Activation Network, demonstrating the success of its efforts to revitalize the local economy.


Especially in investment attraction, Yeongju City was recognized for attracting a record-high investment of 1.2 trillion won, the largest in its history, and achieved the grand prize in the local government category at the 2025 Gyeongbuk Investment Attraction Awards.


Outstanding results continued in the local administration sector as well. Yeongju City received the Grand Prize in the Gyeongbuk Province Cadastral Administration Comprehensive Evaluation, the Grand Prize and Encouragement Award in the 2025 Saemaul Undong City and County Comprehensive Evaluation and Special Policy Evaluation, the Excellence Award in the 2025 Gyeongbuk Province Foreign Policy Excellence City and County Evaluation, and the Excellence Award in the 2025 Gyeongbuk Province Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation, demonstrating its administrative capabilities and the stability of its system operations.


In the health and welfare sector, the city was awarded the Minister's Commendation for Contributions to the 2025 National Immunization Program by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, the Excellence Award in the 53rd Gyeongbuk Province Health Policy Project City and County Evaluation, and the Excellence Award in the 2025 Healthy Village Creation Project Evaluation, proving the effectiveness of its public health policies.


Yeongju City also showed remarkable achievements in the safety sector, winning the Excellence Award in the 2025 Disaster Management Evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and being selected for the ninth consecutive year as an Excellent Institution in the Gyeongbuk Province Wildfire Prevention Evaluation. The city was recognized for its continued efforts in disaster and accident response and ensuring citizen safety.


In agriculture, the city's main industry, Yeongju received the Grand Prize in the Gyeongbuk Province City and County Livestock Administration Comprehensive Evaluation, the Grand Prize in the 2025 Gyeongbuk Hanwoo Contest, the Grand Prize in the 2025 Rural Development Project Evaluation, and the Excellence Award in both the Agricultural Product Distribution Policy Evaluation and the Excellent City and County Direct Agricultural Product Transaction Evaluation, gaining external recognition for its agricultural policy capabilities.


Additionally, the city achieved meaningful results in various other areas, including the Excellence Award in the National Heritage Administration’s Confucian School and Academy National Heritage Utilization Project Evaluation, the Grand Prize in the 2025 Korea Character Awards, the Jury Grand Prize in the 2025 City Design of the Year Awards, and the Excellence Award in the 2025 First Quarter Rapid Execution City and County Comprehensive Evaluation.


A Yeongju City official stated, "These achievements are the result of the support of our citizens and the dedicated efforts of public officials who have worked quietly and diligently in the field. We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that these awards lead to tangible changes and results that citizens can feel in their daily lives, rather than stopping at the awards themselves."
