This project began in 2018 with a total project cost of 219.5 billion won, and involves constructing a new 8.5 km, four-lane national road bypassing Gyeryong-si. The opening is being carried out in stages to improve the logistics efficiency of industrial complexes in Gyeryong-si and to enhance transportation convenience for residents in the surrounding areas.

With this temporary opening, Gyeryong IC and the Gyeryong Industrial Complex will be connected to the new four-lane national road, which is expected to improve logistics efficiency for companies located in the industrial complex. It is also anticipated to enhance transportation convenience for residents of Gyeryong-si, Beolgok-myeon in Nonsan, and other nearby areas.
