Chief Safety Officer Position Elevated to CEO Level
Hansol Paper announced on December 31 that it has nominated Mihyuk Koh, Head of Human Resources at Hansol Holdings, as the new Head of Safety Division.
Hansol Paper has elevated the position of Chief Safety Officer (CSO) from executive director level to CEO level in order to strengthen the independence and expertise of its safety and health sector.
Koh, the nominee, joined Hansol Group through open recruitment and previously served as Head of Management Support at Hansol Paper. Since 2020, he has been Head of Human Resources at Hansol Holdings, where he has gained practical experience in improving HR and safety systems and managing overall organizational operations within the group.
Through this personnel change, Hansol Paper will unify the safety management organizations, which were previously divided between the Head of Management Support for the paper business and the Head of Environmental Business for the environmental business, under the Head of Safety Division. This aims to ensure consistency in safety-related decision-making.
A Hansol Group representative stated, "The establishment of the Head of Safety Division at Hansol Paper reflects our strong commitment to making safety a core value of corporate management," adding, "With strengthened authority for the CSO, we expect to standardize the previously inconsistent safety management standards across workplaces and enhance field-oriented preventive activities and proactive risk management capabilities."
