Since the first member joined in January 2013, Park Wonho, CEO of Daeryeok Sangsa, has become the 27th member of the Honor Society in Paju. This latest membership is particularly significant as it marks the 100th Honor Society member in the northern Gyeonggi region.
The "Honor Society" is a group of individual major donors who have contributed at least 100 million won or pledged to do so within five years. It is affiliated with the Community Chest of Korea (Fruit of Love), and its members, who come from a variety of professions and age groups, are leading the way in spreading an advanced culture of giving.
The membership ceremony was attended by Paju Mayor Kim Kyungil, Kwon Inwook, President of the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea, related officials, and Jeong Haemyeon, an Honor Society member representing the local community.
Donor Park Wonho said, "It is an honor to have my name added to the Honor Society. Since starting my career in distribution in 1979, I have been running my business to this day. It feels truly rewarding to give through donations, and I hope to pass on this sense of fulfillment to my children."
Paju Mayor Kim Kyungil stated, "I would like to thank the donor for making such a meaningful decision and leading the culture of sharing. Paju City will also do its best to contribute to the development of the community with this spirit of giving."
Currently, Paju City has 27 Honor Society members and 8 distinguished corporate donors. Detailed information can be found in the "Donor Hall of Fame" section on the Paju City Hall website.
