This review event marked the first public display of the new electric trains in full-scale model form since the contract for the production of 168 new train cars for Busan Metro Line 2 was signed in December of last year.
The new electric trains have been designed with a focus on enhancing passenger convenience and safety. Major improvements include: ▲ wider and upgraded passenger seats ▲ installation of electronic destination indicators ▲ introduction of new amenities such as wireless mobile phone chargers ▲ expansion of the front window and space in the driver's cab.
The review panel closely examined the full-scale model on display, offering a range of opinions on the exterior design, interior layout, and various convenience and safety features. Busan Transportation Corporation plans to actively reflect the feedback collected on-site in the future production process.
In addition, the corporation released a video, approximately two minutes in length, capturing the review event through its official YouTube channel. The video includes scenes of the visit to the Jeungpyeong Railway Vehicle Factory, an introduction to the Busan Line 2 new electric train project, the exhibition of the full-scale model, and footage of citizens participating in the review, allowing those who could not attend in person to view the train's interior and exterior design as well as its key features.
Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "The opinions of users are of utmost importance when it comes to metro trains that citizens use every day." He added, "By gathering citizen feedback through the review event and providing information to even more people through the video release, we aimed for greater transparency." He continued, "We will ensure the smooth introduction of the new electric trains to provide an even safer and more convenient metro service."
