"Talpang" Spillover Effect: 11st's "Shooting Delivery" Sees Threefold Increase in New Customers

Grocery Product Transactions Double

As a massive personal data breach at Coupang has led to a wave of consumers leaving the platform-dubbed "Talpang" (quitting Coupang)-the competing platform 11st is experiencing a positive spillover effect.


11st announced on the 31st that the number of customers who purchased the fast delivery service "Shooting Delivery" for the first time this month increased more than threefold (229%) compared to the same period last year.

Sales of grocery products, the main category for Shooting Delivery this month, also expanded. The transaction amount for processed foods such as instant rice and ramen doubled (100%) year-on-year, while transactions also increased for categories such as refrigerated and frozen foods (up 79%), milk and dairy products (up 59%), snacks (up 89%), and grains (up 57%). The logistics volume for the integrated fulfillment service "Shooting Seller" during this month (from the 1st to the 29th) also more than doubled compared to the same period last year.


Shooting Delivery is a fast delivery service that offers same-day delivery for orders placed before 11 a.m. in the Seoul metropolitan area, and next-day nationwide delivery for orders placed before midnight. The service is available free of charge, with no monthly membership fee or minimum order requirement, seven days a week including weekends.


11st plans to continue its "Shooting Delivery Special Event" into the new year. The event features recommended products selected by 11st's merchandising team, "Shooting Installation" products that provide fast delivery and installation for large home appliances, and carefully curated bestsellers from various brands.


Ko Kwangil, Head of Sales at 11st, said, "The strength of Shooting Delivery is that customers can use the service every day without paying extra fees for fast delivery, which aligns with the practical consumption trend and has led more customers to choose Shooting Delivery recently." He added, "We will continue to provide fast delivery experiences in our customers' daily lives by efficiently managing products based on purchase data analysis."
