In Gokseong County, a total of 20 teams participated in the 2nd Jeonnam Local Pick Project since last year, and this year, five teams were finally selected. Each team will receive 50 million won in funding to further advance their businesses.

In particular, "Mr Gonggi," which received the highest evaluation, developed a "Taro Tart" using taro, a specialty product of Gokseong that accounts for most of the national production. The highest evaluation is only awarded to the top five companies out of the 34 selected for this year’s business advancement project in South Jeolla Province, which demonstrates the product competitiveness that leverages the unique characteristics of local resources.

Meanwhile, Gokseong County selects three aspiring young entrepreneurs each year and provides 20 million won in startup subsidies per person, as well as offering startup education and customized consulting for both prospective and existing entrepreneurs.
