Goheung County in South Jeolla Province announced that it will launch the "New Year's Goheung Love Gift Certificate Special Discount Event" for two months from January to February next year, aiming to significantly reduce the shopping burden on residents and immediately revitalize the local economy.

This discount event is focused on restoring consumer sentiment, which has been dampened by high inflation, and on ensuring that the benefits are directly felt by residents so that local consumption can circulate rapidly within the community.

In particular, by holding the event during the period when demand for consumption peaks around the holidays and the beginning of the year, the county expects to maximize the effect of boosting sales for small business owners.

During the event, the paper-based Goheung Love Gift Certificate can be purchased at a 15% immediate discount, with each person able to buy up to 500,000 won at 45 financial institutions within the county.

The Goheung Love Card and the mobile Goheung Love Gift Certificate can be loaded with up to 500,000 won through the "Chak" local gift certificate app, and 20% of the payment amount will be credited as cashback.

The Goheung Love Gift Certificate can only be used at 2,470 affiliated stores within the county, preventing the outflow of consumption to other regions. It has established itself as a leading local economic virtuous cycle policy that revitalizes traditional markets and neighborhood businesses.

An official from the county's Economic and Industry Division said, "We hope this New Year's special discount event will provide real support to small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn, and be a meaningful New Year's gift that residents can truly feel. In 2026, we will continue to prioritize local economic recovery and expand policies to stabilize livelihoods."
