President Lee Jae-myung will be accompanied by an economic delegation of over 200 people, including the heads of the four major conglomerates, during his state visit to China.
According to the business community on December 30, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing an economic delegation to coincide with President Lee’s state visit to China from January 4 to 7 next year. The delegation is expected to include around 200 business leaders, such as Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics; Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group; Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group; and Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG Group.
The delegation, led by Chairman Chey in his capacity as head of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will also include Hur Tae-soo, Chairman of GS Group; Jang In-hwa, Chairman of POSCO Group; Koo Ja-eun, Chairman of LS Group; and Sohn Kyung-shik, Chairman of CJ Group and the Korea Employers Federation. CEOs from companies such as Krafton, SM Entertainment, and Fashion Group Hyungji are also expected to join the delegation.

The delegation will participate in events such as the Korea-China Business Forum, the signing of economic cooperation MOUs, and one-on-one business meetings. The forum will focus on exploring ways to enhance bilateral economic cooperation, particularly in areas such as manufacturing innovation, supply chains, new consumer goods markets, and service and content industries. The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is planning to hold one-on-one business meetings for companies seeking to enter the Chinese market.
This is the first time in over six years that the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing an economic delegation to China, following the Korea-China-Japan summit held in December 2019 under former President Moon Jae-in. At that time, more than 100 major corporate executives, including Park Yong-maan, then Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Yoon Boo-keun, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics; and Kong Young-woon, President of Hyundai Motor Company, visited China.
