To Be Held from January 6 to February 24
The Namwon Agricultural Technology Center in North Jeolla Province will hold the "New Year Practical Training for Farmers" from January 6 to February 24, 2026.
According to the center on December 30, this training program consists of specialized crop courses and on-site education sessions in each town and township. The specialized crop courses will cover a total of nine crops: apples, grapes (Campbell), tomatoes, Aralia elata (dureup), onions, rice, peaches, strawberries, and blueberries, and will be held over 11 sessions in total.
Expert instructors have been invited to ensure the training provides practical assistance. Even for the same crop, if the session is held more than once, the curriculum will differ each time to meet the diverse learning needs of farmers.
The on-site education sessions will be held 17 times in total and will cover topics such as mandatory education for the public direct payment system, safe use of agricultural machinery, and prevention of tick-borne infectious diseases.
In addition, the program will provide guidance on the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, which also applies to the agricultural sector, and on low-carbon farming practices. The center will also promote its 2026 education and technology dissemination projects.
This practical training is open to Namwon citizens and prospective return-to-farm residents. Participants can freely attend lectures on the crops and time slots of their choice without any prior registration. For more details, please check the announcements on the city hall website or contact the Human Resources Development Team or the farmers' counseling offices in each town and township.
An official from the Namwon Agricultural Technology Center stated, "We expect that this New Year practical training for farmers will help local farmers with their agricultural work in 2026," and added, "We ask for your interest and active participation."
