[Today's New Release] Starbucks Launches First New Year Collaboration Collection with US Sitcom "Friends"

Introducing Products Inspired by the Friends IP

On December 30, Starbucks Korea announced that starting from New Year's Day 2026, it will collaborate with the global consumer products company Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Product to run a promotion utilizing the IP of Warner Bros. Television's popular sitcom "Friends" until February 3 of next year.


"Friends" is a popular American sitcom that depicts the lives and friendships of six friends set in Manhattan, New York. The show aired over 10 seasons and continues to be beloved by audiences across generations in Korea.


Starbucks has set the slogan for its first promotion as "Happy New Year My Buddy, My Friends," expressing a friendly, buddy-like warmth to all regular customers visiting its stores and wishing them well for the new year. The campaign will feature themed beverages, food, and goods inspired by iconic scenes from the Friends series, allowing customers to celebrate the new year together.

The collaboration beverages include the "Friends Earl Grey Berry Tea Latte," which features a harmonious blend of blueberry, blackberry, and strawberry sauce with an Earl Grey milk tea base. The drink is topped with a purple foam and a yellow transparent sign, representing the famous "Monica's door" from the Friends series. The "Friends Cinnamon Dolce Foam Cappuccino" combines the spiciness of cinnamon with sweet dolce foam, evoking the nostalgic atmosphere of the era when Friends was enjoyed and reminiscent of the cappuccinos the main characters drank.


Foods featured in popular Friends episodes are also being released as collaboration items. The "Friends Fallen Cheesecake" is inspired by the iconic scene where a character eats cheesecake that has fallen to the floor, and is presented in the shape of an overturned cake. It features mascarpone cream cheese cake filled with black sapphire jam, wrapped in a crispy cookie dough containing Lotus, allowing customers to enjoy breaking the cookie with a fork or other utensil. The "Friends Ragu Meatball Sandwich" is a product with meatballs, ragu tomato sauce, and cheese inside a ciabatta roll.


In addition, customers can find 11 different types of goods that capture the spirit of the Friends characters, including "Joey's Flirting Mug" and "Chandler's Confession Turkey Bearista Keychain."


To celebrate this Friends collaboration, Starbucks will hold a pairing event from January 1 to February 3, offering specially priced drinks and foods themed after each Friends character. Until February 3, a Friends collaboration pop-up store will also be operated at the Jangchung Lounge R location.


Meanwhile, starting January 1, Starbucks will re-release the popular "Double Espresso Cream Latte," which sells out every year, and introduce the "Yuja Pear Chamomile Tea," a new New Year season beverage featuring fresh yuja from Namhae, refreshing Western pear, and subtly blended chamomile tea. To celebrate the Year of the Red Horse, customers can also find the savory "Red Horse Carrot Field Cake," which depicts a cute horse running through a carrot field, as well as a variety of goods featuring the red horse, at Starbucks stores nationwide.
