Since last year, Yuhan-Kimberly has participated in the open innovation support project organized by the Gyeonggi Social Economy Center. This program supports social economy organizations with innovative technologies or ideas by helping them enhance their products and services and verify business feasibility, utilizing the infrastructure, marketing, and research and development capabilities of large corporations. Yuhan-Kimberly has collaborated with four social economy organizations through this initiative.

Representative examples of this collaboration include the "development of sustainable consumer products" and the "development of health solutions for women and seniors." Through the sustainable consumer product development project, Yuhan-Kimberly worked with The Flower Factory, a prospective social enterprise, to develop natural paper clay made from recycled hand towels, thereby contributing to the establishment of a resource circulation process.

This year, as part of the women's and seniors' health solutions project, Yuhan-Kimberly has collaborated with the social enterprise Meand to alleviate incontinence and improve quality of life. To achieve this, they combined Meand's design expertise with the absorbency technology of Yuhan-Kimberly's incontinence care brand Depend to develop reusable incontinence underwear, and they are currently considering a joint patent application.

A Yuhan-Kimberly representative stated, "We plan to expand open innovation beyond our existing business areas to include materials, digital health, and new business models," adding, "We will continue open innovation to create a positive impact on Korea's industrial ecosystem by combining the capabilities of large corporations and social enterprises."
