Prosecution, Police, and Labor Office Raid POSCO E&C over 'Yeouido Station Sinansan Line Accident' Yonhap News

On December 30, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office announced that they were conducting a search and seizure from 9:00 a.m. at five locations, including POSCO E&C's headquarters, the site office, and the construction site.

The prosecution, police, and labor office plan to focus their investigation on possible violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.

They have established a cooperative investigation system, taking into account that serious accidents have repeatedly occurred at the site, including the worker's death at the Sinansan Line subway construction site in Yeouido, Seoul, on December 18.

Previously, on December 18, at a depth of 70 meters underground at the Sinansan Line Section 4-2 construction site at Yeouido Station, a rebar structure fell, injuring a site worker. Among those involved, a man in his 50s who was driving a concrete pouring vehicle was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but died. It has been confirmed that he was an employee of a subcontractor working for POSCO E&C.
