Seven Eleven announced on the 30th that it will launch the "Strawberry Matcha Highball" on the 31st, a new product that combines "Matcha" and "Highball," trend codes of the Millennials & Gen Z generation, with seasonal fruit strawberries.


The Strawberry Matcha Highball is characterized by its balanced flavor, offering a refreshing taste with the first sip and a lingering matcha finish. With an alcohol content of 3%, it reflects the healthy pleasure trend favored by Millennials & Gen Z, who enjoy drinking while being mindful of their health.

To celebrate the launch, Seven Eleven will hold a promotional event throughout January, offering three cans for 12,000 won.


According to Seven Eleven, highball sales this year increased by 20% compared to the same period last year. The share of highballs in the alcoholic beverage category (wine, whisky, and liqueur) also jumped from 13% in 2023 to 28% this year. The number of highball-related products, such as "Wine Ball," "Yoa Ball," and "Matcha Highball," has reached about 30 varieties. Millennials & Gen Z customers in their 20s and 30s account for 65% of total consumption.


Song Seungbae, the beverage and alcoholic beverage team MD at Seven Eleven, stated, "We decided to launch the 'Strawberry Matcha Highball' to reflect the preferences and healthy pleasure trend of Millennials & Gen Z, which we confirmed through the success of the Matcha Highball." He added, "We will continue to expand our lineup of differentiated RTD products and reasonably priced premium alcoholic beverages that can only be experienced in the convenience store liquor market."
