Emart and Lotte Mart announced on December 30 that they will hold large-scale discount events starting on New Year's Day.
Emart will host the 'Goraeit Festa' for seven days from January 1 to 7 next year, offering items such as freshwater eel and short ribs at half price.
First, the 'Bok Mani Freshwater Eel (700g)', for which Emart secured a record-high quantity of 30 tons, will be sold at a 50% discount for 27,800 won when customers accumulate Shinsegae Points. The 'Hwangje Freshwater Eel (100g)' will be offered at a special price of 4,980 won.
Short ribs, including LA galbi and braised short ribs, are prepared in a record quantity of 160 tons and will be available at up to half price when paid in full with the event card. The popular product 'Ipanran (30 eggs)' will also be sold at a 40% discount for 8,988 won when paid in full with the event card. Domestic pork belly and pork neck are available at half price when Shinsegae Points are accumulated.
Additionally, the 'Cuckoo Power Clone Robot Vacuum Cleaner' will be sold for 399,000 won, a discount of 300,000 won, when paid in full with the event card. Popular hair loss care products such as 'Gravity Extra Strong Shampoo', 'Dr. Groot Hair Loss & Scalp Total Care Line Shampoo & Conditioner Set', and the 'Aerie Wearable Overnight' sanitary pads in collaboration with Joeunneukkim will all be offered at a flat price of 4,950 won.
This event will also be held at SSG.com Emart Mall, Emart Everyday, and No Brand specialty stores during the same period.

Lotte Mart will hold the 'Tongkeun Day' event for four days from January 1 to 4 next year. Starting in 2026, Lotte Mart plans to operate Tongkeun Day as a regular monthly discount event.
Tongkeun Day will be held simultaneously at all Lotte Mart and Lotte Super stores, as well as Lotte Mart MAXX and Lotte Mart ZETTA locations.
For the first event, four types of New Year's family foods will be offered at half price. 'Braised Short Ribs (100g, chilled, U.S. origin)' will be available at a price in the 1,000-won range when paid with the event card, and from January 2 to 4, 'First Grade Korean Beef Sirloin (100g, chilled, domestic)' will also be offered at a 50% discount. 'Kkeutdwae Pork Belly and Pork Neck (each 100g, chilled, imported pork)' will be available at half price for L.POINT members. The 'New Year Special Live Snow Crab (100g, chilled, Russian origin)' will be offered at a 50% discount for 4,495 won.
There will also be discounts on ingredients for rice cake soup, fruits, vegetables, and processed foods. 'Oneul Joeun Our Rice Rice Cake Soup Slices (700g)' will be sold to L.POINT members for 3,450 won, and 'CJ, Ottogi, Pulmuone, Sajo Daerim Frozen Dumplings (11 types)' will be available with a 1+1 promotion. All 'ambient soup' products, a popular winter item, will be offered as a 1+1 deal, all 'cocoa' products as a 2+1 deal, and all 'Hoppang' products will be available at a 30% discount when purchasing two or more with the event card.
Additionally, to celebrate the New Year, the '1865 Cabernet Sauvignon Jeok Toma Edition (750ml)' with a Year of the Blue Dragon theme will be offered to L.POINT members in the 20,000-won range.
