According to the telecommunications industry on December 29, KT is considering a plan to waive penalties for customers who wish to terminate their contracts from the following day until January 8 of next year.
The waiver applies to: ▲ Customers who were subscribed to KT Mobile and had an active contract as of September 7 ▲ Customers who incurred penalties due to contract termination (including number portability terminations) between September 8 and midnight on January 8 of next year ▲ Customers who meet all conditions for mobile phone and 2ND/pad lines and apply for a refund.
The refund application period is from January 9 to January 31 of next year, after the penalty waiver period ends. The actual refund timing will vary depending on the termination and application dates, but is expected to take place between January and February of next year.
KT plans to officially announce the details of the penalty waiver, termination, and refund process after a board resolution on December 30.
However, KT stated that this penalty waiver plan has not been finalized and may be adjusted through discussions at the board of directors and the National Assembly.
