Priority Long-Term Lease Benefit for Families with Newborns
The Seoul Metropolitan Government is recruiting the first tenants for the "Mirinae House-linked Public Hanok" designed for newlywed couples. While the exterior retains the traditional Hanok style, all interiors are modern, and the rental rates are set at 60 to 70 percent of the market price.

On December 29, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that applications for the "Mirinae House-linked Public Hanok" will be accepted over two days, January 15 and 16 of next year. A total of seven units will be supplied in Jongno-gu and Seongbuk-gu.
Prior to this, an open house event will be held from January 7 to 14 (excluding Sundays), allowing prospective tenants to tour all seven Hanok properties. An on-site briefing session will also take place on January 12.
The "Mirinae House-linked Public Hanok" adopts the Newlywed and Newborn Purchase-Lease Housing II model, offering rents significantly lower than the market rate. Through a mutual conversion system, tenants can adjust the ratio of the deposit and monthly rent according to their household financial plans. Notably, if a child is born during the tenancy, households are granted the benefit of priority application for "long-term lease housing" after residing for 10 years.
Gahoe-dong No. 1 (Gahoe-dong 35-2) in Jongno-gu is a hybrid of Hanok and Western-style house, featuring front and back yards suitable for outdoor activities. Gye-dong No. 2 (Gye-dong 2-39), the smallest studio-type Hanok, is ideal for households seeking a minimalist lifestyle. Gye-dong No. 3 (Gye-dong 32-10) is located in a quiet, densely populated residential area and features a small vegetable garden in the yard, making it perfect for those dreaming of a rural lifestyle in the city.
Wonso-dong No. 4 (Wonso-dong 24), which has four rooms, three bathrooms, a basement family room, and a sunken garden, is the largest among the Hanok units offered this time. Priority will be given to applicants from "large families with three or more generations." Pilun-dong No. 6 (Pilun-dong 180-1) consists of three rooms, two bathrooms, and a multipurpose room, and also gives priority to large families with three or more generations.
Wonso-dong No. 5 (Wonso-dong 38), which faces the wall of Changdeokgung Palace, allows residents to enjoy open skies and palace landscaping as if it were their own garden. The front and back yards are equipped with small vegetable gardens and traditional Korean crocks.
Bomun-dong No. 7 (Bomun-dong 6-ga 41-17) in Seongbuk-gu is located in a general residential area with both apartments and detached houses, offering excellent access to local amenities. One room and a bathroom are separated as an annex, which can be used as a study, playroom, or guest room.

Choi Jinseok, Director of Housing at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "Following the announcement of our supply plan earlier this year, the 'Mirinae House-linked Public Hanok' project, which has attracted significant public interest, will begin full-scale supply with these seven units. Starting in 2027, we plan to steadily provide around 10 units per village in connection with new Hanok village development projects, in order to ensure housing stability for newlyweds and to accommodate diverse preferences and lifestyles."
