According to the city on December 29, this evaluation, organized by North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province, has been conducted annually since 2019 for 14 cities and counties within the province. Since the evaluation began in 2019, the city has been named a top institution six times and an excellent institution once, maintaining its status as an outstanding institution every single year and achieving unrivaled results within the province.

From the second half of last year to the first half of this year-a one-year period-Iksan City signed investment agreements worth 221.6 billion won with 33 companies and created over 800 new jobs.

Major investing companies include Dongwoo Fine-Chem, Solus Advanced Materials, MGFV, Soimi Food, and Nano Solution. The full-scale operations of these companies are expected to inject new vitality into the local economy.

In particular, Iksan is pursuing an investment attraction strategy focused on technology-intensive industries such as semiconductors, bio, and food, transforming the regional industrial structure toward a future-oriented model. Attracting advanced technology-based companies is not only creating high-quality jobs but also strengthening regional competitiveness.

Dongwoo Fine-Chem, headquartered in Iksan, is making a new investment of 99,000 square meters in the expansion area of Iksan's 3rd General Industrial Complex to secure new growth engines such as semiconductor materials, and is also promoting additional investment in its existing site at the 1st National Industrial Complex.

In addition, promising companies such as Solus Advanced Materials, Nano Solution, and Sangbong Motors are also expected to contribute to the creation of high-quality jobs in the region along with their continued growth.

At the National Food Cluster, competitive food companies such as MGFV, Soimi Food, and Soonsubon have successively moved in, leading the development of high value-added products using local agricultural products and expanding exports.

The National Food Cluster serves as a key hub for the domestic food industry, integrating research and development with production. Recently, it has expanded its scope to industries that meet future demand, such as health functional foods and home meal replacements (HMR), establishing itself as an important growth engine for the regional economy.

A city official stated, "The continued investment by companies despite challenging economic conditions is the result of our ongoing efforts to improve the investment environment. We will continue to focus on customized investment attraction activities and creating a business-friendly environment so that companies can settle and grow stably."
