This project targets 71 classes across six middle and high schools in the city, aiming to connect the local industry base with the school curriculum. The initiative is designed to help students experience entrepreneurship and support them in becoming future talents who learn and grow within the local community.
The program will be conducted as "on-site education" tailored to each school's academic calendar, providing customized entrepreneurship education that reflects local needs.
The curriculum is structured as a hands-on program, allowing students to experience the entire process from problem identification to generating startup ideas and running simulated businesses.
Through this, students are expected to strengthen their creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, while also deepening their understanding of local industries, thereby laying the groundwork for nurturing locally-rooted talent.
The education consists of a total of six sessions per class, covering each stage: understanding and assessing entrepreneurship competencies, creative thinking and problem-solving, developing items reflecting Yangju's industrial and environmental characteristics, item branding, and simulated business management and item presentations.
Participating students will directly plan creative ideas to solve real social problems based on Yangju's industrial foundation and local conditions, and will develop teamwork and decision-making skills through team-based simulated business activities.
A city official stated, "This entrepreneurship project provides students with practical career and future education by helping them understand local industries and plan and realize their own ideas. Based on the Education Development Special Zone, we will continue to expand the educational ecosystem so that Yangju's children can learn, challenge themselves, and grow within the local community."
