This event was organized to honor Military Service Distinguished Families, whose male direct descendants from the first to the third generation have faithfully fulfilled their military duties, and to promote the value of sincere military service throughout the local community.

This year, a total of 11 families in Dongducheon City were selected as Military Service Distinguished Families. The mayor of Dongducheon personally presented the Gyeonggi-do Military Service Distinguished Family plaque to a representative of the families and expressed his congratulations and gratitude.

Park Hyungdeok, Mayor of Dongducheon, stated, "Military service is a duty that every citizen should fulfill, but it is by no means easy to faithfully carry out this responsibility across multiple generations. I deeply thank all the Military Service Distinguished Families for steadfastly protecting our nation."

A representative of the Military Service Distinguished Families who attended the event requested, "Please continue to foster a social atmosphere in which fulfilling military service is regarded as an honorable and proud duty, so that many citizens will faithfully fulfill their military obligations."
