Hongcheon County in Gangwon Province has taken proactive measures to ensure the smooth implementation and efficient budget execution of small-scale community projects for 2026.
On December 29, Hongcheon County held an inauguration ceremony for its survey and design team at the county office, comprising civil engineering officials from towns and townships, and officially began operations.
This survey and design team is organized into three groups under the overall supervision of the Director of Construction and will operate jointly for a total of 61 days until February 27 next year. The team will conduct on-site surveys and detailed designs for small-scale community projects within the county.
The projects to be handled through in-house surveys and designs are relatively simple small-scale works, such as village road paving and drainage maintenance. A total of 490 projects are planned, with a combined budget of approximately 20 billion won.
Hongcheon County expects that this joint operation will partially replace external design services, thereby reducing design costs and enabling earlier project implementation.
Shin Youngjae, Governor of Hongcheon County, stated, "We have established the survey and design team to systematically carry out small-scale community projects and reduce inconvenience for residents," adding, "I hope this will provide an opportunity for technical officials to build practical skills by working on-site."
Meanwhile, Hongcheon County plans to continue systematically managing small-scale community projects to enhance budget execution efficiency and ensure that projects proceed as planned.
