Dongbu Construction Surpasses 4 Trillion Won in New Orders This Year, Achieving Record-High Performance Since Founding

Dongbu Construction has achieved a record-breaking performance this year, surpassing 4 trillion won in new orders for the first time since its founding. The company’s strategy of expanding its order portfolio into both public works and private non-residential sectors has paid off.

On December 29, Dongbu Construction announced that it had won the contract for the ‘Yongin Campus Win-Win Facility Construction Project’ commissioned by SK Hynix.

This project involves building a win-win facility with a total floor area of 171,339 square meters, consisting of three basement levels and ten above-ground floors, in the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex located in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The underground levels will house amenities such as parking lots, a daycare center, and restaurants, while the above-ground floors will include a dormitory with approximately 1,400 rooms. The total construction cost is about 192.4 billion won, and the project is expected to take around 29 months from the groundbreaking date.

As a result, Dongbu Construction’s total new orders for this year have reached 4.167 trillion won. The company’s shift from a housing supply-centered revenue structure to increasing orders in the private plant and advanced industrial facility sectors has driven this performance growth. In the public sector, Dongbu Construction secured the contract for Section 1 of the Busan New Port-Gimhae Expressway project, worth 340 billion won. In the private sector, the company won construction rights for smart logistics and plant projects such as the Ottogi Baegam Logistics Center and the Samsung Medison Hongcheon Plant. In the private housing sector, Dongbu Construction achieved results in small-scale urban redevelopment projects, including the Cheonho-dong Street Housing Reconstruction Project.

Dongbu Construction commented, “Despite challenging order conditions for mid-sized construction companies due to a general contraction in the construction industry, project financing (PF) risks, and cost burdens, we have achieved results by securing both the stability of public works and the growth potential of private and industrial facility sectors.”
