A university department has achieved the remarkable feat of having all its candidates pass a national certification exam.
On December 29, Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology’s Department of Occupational Therapy announced that all 38 students who took the 53rd National Occupational Therapist Examination, the results of which were released on December 24, have passed.
The National Occupational Therapist Examination is a mandatory national test for training specialized professionals in the field of rehabilitative medicine, comprehensively assessing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in occupational therapy.
The Department of Occupational Therapy at Gyeongnam National University of Science and Technology stated that it has consistently managed students’ academic capabilities by operating a systematic curriculum and national exam preparation programs. The university explained that continuous guidance and attention from faculty advisors, as well as collaborative learning among students, were the main factors behind the 100% pass rate.
The soon-to-be graduates who passed the exam are expected to enter various medical and welfare sectors, such as rehabilitation hospitals, long-term care hospitals, and child development centers. The department plans to continue supporting students’ smooth adaptation to clinical settings through ongoing employment support programs, including job training and accompanied interviews.
Song Minok, head of the Department of Occupational Therapy, emphasized, “We will further strengthen systematic student guidance and quality management of education to nurture professional occupational therapists who will lead the field of community rehabilitation services.”
