Dongwon Group announced on the 29th that it has conducted its regular executive appointments for 2026, including the promotion of Sungjin Cho, Executive Vice President and CEO of Dongwon Construction Industry, to President and CEO.


Dongwon Group stated that it plans to enhance the group’s sustainability and global competitiveness by strategically placing executives with expertise in each business division. This round of appointments follows last month’s advance appointments at the CEO level and completes the selection of 20 executives who will lead growth and new businesses in each business division. The appointments will take effect on January 1, 2026.

First, President Cho is being promoted in recognition of his achievements in strengthening the company’s financial soundness through selective orders focused on high-quality projects and cost reduction, even amid a downturn in the construction market. Going forward, he plans to focus on discovering new businesses and securing future growth engines.


Kyungtak Noh, Executive Vice President and CEO of Dongwon Farms, has also been promoted to President and CEO. Noh was recognized for his contributions to building a solid business foundation by focusing on the development of functional livestock feed and the optimization of supply chains.


In addition, Sehun Kim, Head of the Holding Company Division at Dongwon Industries, and Youngsang Lee, Head of the Meat Division at Dongwon Home Food, have each been promoted to Executive Vice President. Kim was highly evaluated for his significant contributions to enhancing shareholder value through restructuring the governance structure and implementing interim dividends, as well as for accelerating the group-wide transition to artificial intelligence (AX) by actively introducing AI technologies. Lee was recognized for leading the stable growth and improved profitability of the livestock wholesale platform ‘Geumcheon Meat’ and for strengthening the competitiveness of the meat division by securing new clients.


New executive appointments were also made to strengthen global business. Dongwon Group appointed Michael Merritt as Head of Marketing at its U.S. subsidiary, StarKist. Michael Merritt is an expert with extensive experience in brand marketing at major U.S. meat processing companies such as Smithfield Foods. In addition, John Fields was appointed as Head of Finance at StarKist. John Fields, a finance expert who has worked at PepsiCo and Tropicana, is expected to further strengthen the financial stability and growth foundation of the group’s global business.


A Dongwon Group representative stated, “We carried out these appointments to proactively respond to the rapidly changing business environment and to lay the foundation for future growth,” adding, “We will continue to discover new growth engines based on technology and expertise, and practice responsible management.”
