Kyungsoo Lee, Former Head of Science and Technology Innovation, Appointed Vice Chairman of National Science and Technology Advisory Council as "Nuclear Fusion Expert"

now Chairman of Enable Fusion

Kyungsoo Lee (69), Chairman of Enable Fusion and a renowned expert in nuclear fusion, has been appointed as the new Vice Chairman of the National Science and Technology Advisory Council.


Born in Daegu, Vice Chairman Lee graduated from Gyeongbuk High School and the Department of Physics at Seoul National University, and earned his doctorate in physics from the University of Texas at Austin in the United States.

He has served as Chairman of the International Fusion Research Council (IFRC) at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Director of the National Fusion Research Institute, Deputy Director-General of the ITER International Organization, and Head of the Office of Science and Technology Innovation at the Ministry of Science and ICT. Currently, he is Chairman of the nuclear fusion startup Enable Fusion.


Enable Fusion is the first nuclear fusion startup in Korea, co-founded by Vice Chairman Lee and Choi Doohwan, former CEO of POSCO ICT.
