Jangseong County to Launch Integrated Medical and Nursing Care Support Project Next Year A view of Jangseong County Office, Jeonnam.

Jangseong County in Jeonnam announced on the 28th that starting next year, it will implement the Integrated Community Care Support Project in accordance with the "Act on the Integrated Support for Community Care, Including Medical and Nursing Services."

The Integrated Community Care Support Project, a key government initiative, is a program in which local governments take the lead in providing integrated support for care services such as medical and nursing care for the elderly and people with disabilities, which had previously been fragmented and carried out separately by various institutions and organizations.

Since being selected in July as a target area for the "2025 Medical and Nursing Care Integrated Support Technical Assistance Pilot Project," Jangseong County has been working to establish an integrated care delivery system.

In August, the county held a meeting with the Jangseong-Damyang branch of the National Health Insurance Service and related organizations to establish a cooperative network.

Starting in September, the county launched the "Hospital Companion Service," which provides transportation and companion assistance to help elderly residents with mobility difficulties access hospital care.

Subsequently, the county established a legal framework by enacting the "Ordinance on Integrated Care Support in Jangseong County."

Recently, Jangseong County convened a review committee for the integrated support council, composed of experts in healthcare, long-term care, elderly care, and disability services, to review next year's integrated care implementation plan and discuss ways to strengthen public-private cooperation.

With the full implementation of the Integrated Care Act next year, the county plans to establish a new "Integrated Care Team" within the Family Happiness Division to provide systematic services.

Kim Han-jong, Mayor of Jangseong County, stated, "We will do our utmost to provide robust and warm welfare services that residents can truly feel in their daily lives," and added, "We will work to establish an efficient collaborative system among relevant organizations, including township administrative welfare centers, health centers, long-term care institutions, customized elderly care providers, and medical institutions."
