Samsung Electronics announced on December 28 that it will unveil its 2026 lineup of sound devices at the "The First Look" event in Las Vegas, USA, on January 4, 2026 (local time), just ahead of the opening of CES 2026, the world's largest information technology and electronics trade show. The lineup includes Music Studio 7, Music Studio 5, HW-Q990H, and HW-QS90H. These products are recognized for their powerful audio technology and sophisticated design.
Samsung Electronics has expanded its pairing features not only to the existing Q Series soundbars but also to new Wi-Fi speakers, creating an even more robust audio ecosystem.
In particular, the two new Wi-Fi speakers, "Music Studio Speakers," were designed by French furniture designer Erwan Bouroullec, who also designed Samsung's lifestyle TV "The Serif." The design is characterized by a concave dot at the center of the speaker. Bouroullec explained, "I focused on a design that embodies freshness to announce a new era of audio and purity that can blend naturally into various environments."
The Music Studio Speakers are also praised for inheriting the design philosophy of the lifestyle TV "The Serif," which has gained a reputation as an interior object beyond just a home appliance. The Serif, with its design reminiscent of the letter "I" and a detachable stand, fits stably anywhere in the home, including the living room, kitchen, bedroom, or even on a shelf. Just as The Serif has elevated the ambiance of spaces by blurring the boundaries between technology and art, the company expects that these new products, infused with Erwan Bouroullec's sensibility, will serve as "art objects" that go beyond being mere speakers.
Among the two, "Music Studio 7 (LS70H)" is a 3.1.1-channel spatial audio system equipped with front, side, and top speakers, delivering natural 3D sound. It features audio technology developed at Samsung's Audio Lab in California, USA, which specializes in sound research. "Pattern Control" is a technology that optimizes the direction of sound, while "AI Dynamic Bass Control" automatically adjusts for deep and rich bass. It also supports high-resolution audio up to 24-bit, 96kHz, and is equipped with a super tweeter that extends the frequency range up to 35kHz for more delicate music expression.
The other model, "Music Studio 5 (LS50H)," features a compact design and delivers balanced sound. With a 4-inch woofer and dual tweeters, it produces clear and well-balanced audio, and AI Dynamic Bass Control provides deep bass. It also enhances convenience by supporting casting, streaming services, voice control, and Bluetooth connectivity based on the SSC codec.
The 2026 Q Series soundbar analyzes the size of the living space and the user's listening environment to deliver optimal sound. The flagship model, "HW-Q990H," is equipped with "Sound Elevation" technology, which brings dialogue from the TV to the center of the screen. The "Auto Volume" function automatically adjusts the volume between content and channels, providing a more balanced listening experience. Up-firing channels and next-generation AI tuning technology deliver more immersive sound, offering a professional home theater-level experience.
The "HW-Q990H" features an 11.1.4-channel system, consisting of a 7.0.2 main bar, 4.0.2 rear speakers, and an 8-inch dual active compact subwoofer. The 2026 lineup also introduces an all-in-one soundbar that does not require a separate subwoofer, catering to consumers who value both performance and design. It features a convertible fit design that supports both wall-mount and tabletop installation, and the built-in gyro sensor automatically adjusts channel distribution according to installation orientation. The 7.1.2-channel system includes 13 drivers, including nine wide-range speakers and a quad bass woofer, delivering deep bass even without a separate subwoofer.
Another highlight of the 2026 lineup is the evolution of the Q-Symphony feature, which allows the speakers built into Samsung TVs and the soundbar speakers to work together. The enhanced Q-Symphony now supports connecting up to five sound devices to the TV and analyzes the room structure and device placement to provide optimized surround sound.
In addition, the "SmartThings" app allows users to intuitively control sound settings, group playback, and music streaming, as well as instantly play and control music from mobile devices.
Lee Heon, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, said, "In 2026, Samsung Electronics will continue to deliver rich and expressive sound experiences in any space and daily life through next-generation sound devices that combine audio, design, and AI capabilities."
