According to the county, the voucher taxi program was introduced to enhance mobility rights for transportation-vulnerable individuals by utilizing regular taxis. It has been in operation since August 2022 to address inconveniences caused by increased demand for the existing special transportation services for the disabled (call taxis for people with disabilities).

Until this year, 15 operators have been running voucher taxis, but next year, the program will be expanded to include 20 operators by adding 5 more. This expansion aims to resolve inconveniences such as dispatch delays and to increase satisfaction with mobility services for transportation-vulnerable individuals.

Voucher taxi users can use the service up to four times a day, within a monthly limit of 300,000 won, paying a personal fare of between 500 and 1,000 won per ride.

Hwasun County Mayor Koo Bokgyu stated, "With the expansion of the voucher taxi service, we expect that transportation-vulnerable individuals will be able to use the service more quickly and conveniently than before," adding, "We will continue to implement various policies to enhance mobility rights for transportation-vulnerable individuals."
