Jang Kyung-tae Sued Again... Ex-Boyfriend of Accuser Says "Abused Status as Lawmaker to Pressure Me"

According to the police and other sources, the ex-boyfriend, identified as Mr. A, submitted a complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency that afternoon, accusing Assemblyman Jang of defamation, coercion of an interview, and false accusation. Mr. A stated that on the day of the incident, he visited a restaurant in Yeouido to pick up his girlfriend, witnessed a scene that appeared to be harassment, and provided a video file of the incident to the media.

Previously, on November 30, Assemblyman Jang held a press conference at the National Assembly's Communication Center in Yeouido, Seoul, denying the sexual harassment allegations and stating, "There was no harassment," and "The essence of this case is the dating violence committed by the complainant's boyfriend."

Mr. A claimed that although Assemblyman Jang labeled him as the perpetrator of dating violence, he never committed any assault. Instead, he argued that his identity and workplace were made public, resulting in defamation. He added, "Requesting an internal investigation at my workplace is a retaliatory act that abuses the status of a National Assembly member to pressure an ordinary public servant."

In October of last year, Assemblyman Jang was accused of quasi-forcible molestation of an intoxicated woman at a National Assembly staff gathering. Assemblyman Jang has completely denied the allegations and filed a counter-complaint, accusing the woman of making a false accusation and Mr. A of false accusation, assault, and violation of the Protection of Communications Secrets Act.
