Honored as Recipients of the 2025 Korea Talent Award
The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education announced on December 26 that two high school students from the province were honored as awardees at the 2025 Korea Talent Award ceremony, which was held at the Government Sejong Convention Center on December 24.
The Korea Talent Award, hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Korea Student Aid Foundation, was established to recognize outstanding young talents who have achieved remarkable accomplishments with wisdom and passion, created new value through creative thinking, and contributed to social development and consideration for others. This year, a total of 100 recipients were selected: 40 in the high school and youth division, and 60 in the university and general youth division.
In the high school division for Gangwon Province, two students were selected as recipients of the 2025 Korea Talent Award: Paik Ian (3rd year, Minjok Leadership Academy) and Cho Seungbeom (2nd year, Minjok Leadership Academy). Each received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award and a prize of 2 million won.
The award ceremony was attended by the recipients, their families, and others who shared in the celebration. The awardees took the opportunity to reaffirm their pride as future leaders of Korea and pledged to continue their growth.
Kim Seongrae, Director of Secondary Education, stated, "This award is a meaningful result that demonstrates the excellence and unlimited potential of our students in Gangwon. We will continue to strengthen systematic career and academic guidance so that students can realize their potential, reach out to a wider world, and grow into outstanding talents who contribute to the development of the nation and local communities."
