Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province held a completion ceremony for the Arieum Sports Center, which was established to expand the city’s recreational sports infrastructure, on the 25th and opened the facility to the public.

The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Pocheon, National Assemblyman Kim Yongtae, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members Kim Seongnam and Yoon Choongsik, Chairman Lim Jonghun of the Pocheon City Council, as well as city council members Yeon Jechang, Son Sehwa, Seo Kwaseok, Kim Hyeongyu, An Aekyung, and Jo Jinsook, who all celebrated the completion together.
The Arieum Sports Center is a recreational sports facility built with support from the National Sports Promotion Fund. It consists of one basement level and two above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 2,778 square meters, and is equipped with a swimming pool, fitness center, group exercise (GX) room, and various other recreational sports spaces.
The ceremony began with an outdoor unveiling event, followed by a tour of the facilities from the basement level to the second floor.
Notably, at the swimming pool, graduates of the recreational sports instructor special lecture class operated by Pocheon Urban Corporation gave a demonstration, sharing with citizens the results of nurturing local sports talent directly within the region.
A Pocheon City official stated, "The Arieum Sports Center is a foundational facility that supports citizens’ healthy daily lives and leisure," adding, "We will make thorough preparations to ensure safe and convenient use of the center."

After internal preparations, the Arieum Sports Center is scheduled to begin operations in February next year, and following its opening, recreational sports programs such as swimming and fitness will be introduced in phases.
