According to fire authorities, around 1 p.m. on the same day, six reports were received stating that a vehicle parked in front of the Burger King store in Jihaeng-dong, Dongducheon, suddenly drove into the restaurant.
As a result of the accident, three visitors-Ms. Kim (female, in her 40s), Ms. Jeon (female, in her 30s), and Mr. Lee (male, in his 60s)-who were dining inside the restaurant, complained of pain in their legs and other areas and were transported to a nearby hospital. All of the injured were confirmed to have sustained only minor injuries.
At the time of the accident, the vehicle broke completely through the restaurant’s front glass window and damaged interior fixtures, but fortunately, there were no additional casualties. The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 70s identified as Mr. A, was not transported to the hospital from the scene.
The fire authorities deployed nine pieces of equipment and 23 personnel to handle the situation, while the police are investigating the exact cause of the accident, including the possibility that Mr. A caused the crash due to a driving error while parking.
