Only Municipality in Gyeonggi Province to Achieve Grade 1 in "Integrity Effort" Category
On December 26, Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it had received a Grade 2 rating for the second consecutive year in the "2025 Comprehensive Integrity Assessment of Public Institutions," organized by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
This assessment is conducted annually by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, targeting 721 organizations, including administrative agencies and public sector-related groups. It assigns grades from 1 to 5 by comprehensively measuring the "Integrity Effort"-which evaluates the level of anti-corruption initiatives-and the "Perceived Integrity," which is based on surveys of civil petitioners and internal staff.
In this year's assessment, the city received a Grade 2 rating for overall integrity for the second year in a row. Notably, the city explained that it was the only municipality in the Gyeonggi region to receive a Grade 1 rating in the "Integrity Effort" category.
Since last year, the city has focused on systematically identifying and improving areas vulnerable to corruption within the organization. It has implemented a variety of customized initiatives, including "On-Site Integrity Consulting," the production of integrity-themed videos, and the hosting of the "Integrity and Innovation Festa," which involves participation from all employees.
Im Byeongtaek, Mayor of Siheung, stated, "Based on these results, we will further strengthen our anti-corruption and integrity policies with the goal of realizing 'an administration trusted by citizens and an integrity-driven city of Siheung.'"
