Community Facility Featuring Swimming Pool and Sauna
Dongjak District in Seoul (District Mayor Park Ilha) will construct a multi-purpose facility called 'Sangdo SOC' in Sangdo-dong, featuring a hotel-grade swimming pool and sauna. Sangdo SOC will be built at 438 Sangdo-dong, with one basement level and five above-ground floors, totaling approximately 3,168 square meters in gross floor area. Construction will begin on December 29, 2025.
The core of the facility is the premium sauna and swimming pool, which will be located on the 2nd to 5th floors. These spaces will be designed for residents' convenience and leisure activities, and facilities for seniors and children will also be included. The district expects that, through this project, all residents will be able to conveniently access high-quality sports facilities. The first floor will feature a community yard and a public pedestrian passage, while the basement will house a mechanical parking facility.
Earlier this month, the district designated S&PCNC Co., Ltd. as the public support facility operator and finalized the urban management plan change after a review by the Dongjak District Urban Planning Committee. The district received the building permit application on December 11 and completed the approval process on December 24.
Park Ilha, Mayor of Dongjak District, stated, "We will create hotel-grade swimming pool and sauna facilities in Sangdo-dong," adding, "We will continue to expand community-based facilities to further enhance the city's status."
