Yeongcheon City to Supply Cheonwonju Housing for Young People and Newlyweds at 30,000 Won per Month... Creating a Marriage, Childbirth, and Parenting-Friendly Environment

Up to Six Years of Residence for 1,000 Won a Day
Starting with 20 Units in Munoe-dong, 42 Additional Units to Be Supplied in Kumho-eup

Yeongcheon City will provide Cheonwonju Housing to alleviate the housing cost burden for young people and newlyweds, and to support their stable settlement in the region.

Cheonwonju Housing is supported by a system in which tenants pay a monthly rent of 30,000 won (1,000 won per day) to the Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation, and Yeongcheon City covers the difference in rent to the corporation.

The housing units to be supplied are region-customized purchase-rental homes located across from the city library (126-2 Munoe-dong), with a total of 20 units available (12 for young people, 8 for newlyweds).

Eligible applicants are young people without a home or newlywed couples who are members of a household without a home, and must meet the income and asset criteria specified in the Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation announcement.

Tenants can reside for up to six years at a monthly rent of 30,000 won, after which the original rent (approximately 350,000 won for youth units and 450,000 won for newlywed units) will apply for the subsequent contract period.

The tenant recruitment notice will be posted on the Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation website starting December 26, and applications will be accepted for three days from January 6 to January 8 next year.

Applications can be submitted online or by registered mail.

This round of Cheonwonju Housing is a region-customized purchase-rental home established across from the city library based on an agreement with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation. The project was carried out by having a private developer complete the housing, which was then purchased by the corporation.

This approach enabled the rapid supply of high-quality housing and a community center.

The community center will include facilities such as karaoke rooms, dance practice rooms, and computer rooms that can be freely used by youth.

In addition, on December 22, Yeongcheon City signed a "Public Rental Housing Rent Support Project for Youth and Newlyweds in Region-Customized Purchase-Rental Homes" business agreement with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation to ensure the stable implementation of the Cheonwonju Housing rent support program.

Furthermore, next year, an additional 42-unit purchase-rental housing complex (14 for young people, 14 for newlyweds, and 14 general units) will be established in Kumho-eup, further expanding housing support for young people and newlyweds through Cheonwonju Housing.

A city official stated, "Cheonwonju Housing is more than just a rental housing supply; it is a core housing policy that helps young people and newlyweds settle stably in the region," adding, "We will continue to do our best to reduce the housing burden for young people and newlyweds and create an environment that is friendly to marriage and childbirth."

Detailed eligibility requirements and supply schedules can be found in the announcement on the Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation website from December 26, and related inquiries should be directed to the Housing Operations Department of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Development Corporation.
