Official Apology Issued, Pledging to Make This a Starting Point for County Administration Innovation
The overall integrity rating of public institutions in Geumsan County, South Chungcheong Province, has fallen to the lowest level.
Geumsan County in South Chungcheong Province, which received the lowest grade of Level 5 in the 2025 Comprehensive Integrity Assessment of Public Institutions announced by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on December 23, has issued an official apology.
On the afternoon of December 24, Geumsan Deputy County Governor Heo Changdeok held an emergency press conference, stating, "I feel a deep sense of responsibility and sincerely apologize for not fully meeting the expectations of our residents," and added, "We humbly accept the results of the assessment."
He continued, "We will conduct a thorough analysis of the causes and carry out an in-depth review of areas vulnerable to integrity issues, establishing and implementing improvement tasks for each department."
Deputy Governor Heo emphasized, "We will take this assessment result as a starting point for innovation in county administration. Going forward, to achieve fair and trustworthy governance, areas with potential risks of corruption will be intensively managed by the audit team, and any violations will be strictly punished."
