Visit to Dunsan District Police Station with the Daejeon Autonomous Police Committee
On the evening of December 24, Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo visited the Dunsan District Police Station of the Dunsan Police Station together with the Daejeon Autonomous Police Committee to encourage the on-site police officers who are dedicated to special crime prevention activities during the year-end and New Year season.
This visit was arranged to acknowledge the hard work of the autonomous police officers who are protecting the field to prevent various crimes and safety accidents during the year-end and New Year period, and to directly listen to the challenges they face on site.
On this day, after receiving a report on the security status of the Dunsan District Police Station, Mayor Lee communicated with the 112 Situation Room of the Daejeon Police Agency and delivered a message of encouragement to the police officers working around the clock, day and night.
Mayor Lee said, "As the mayor, I sincerely thank all the police officers in Daejeon who steadfastly protect the safety of our citizens even amid the unsettled atmosphere of the year-end and New Year season."
He also mentioned the recent case of apprehending a voice phishing money mule near the north gate of City Hall, involving an amount of around 20 million won, and applauded the efforts of the police officers who worked hard on the scene to eradicate voice phishing.
Meanwhile, Daejeon City has finalized the autonomous police budget for 2026 and increased funding for morale-boosting programs and customized welfare points to improve working conditions for autonomous police officers. In addition, the city has expanded the budget by 10.26% compared to the previous year, including the addition of three dedicated vehicles for autonomous police officers to support abuse prevention (APO) and crime prevention diagnosis (CPO) activities.
