For the first time in the region, an outdoor skating rink and a sledding slope are being operated at the 'Jeonnam OK Residents' Plaza' in front of the provincial government building, which opened to the public in November.

According to Jeonnam Development Corporation on December 25, the 'Jeonnam OK Residents' Plaza Outdoor Skating Rink and Sledding Slope' opened on December 24 and will operate for about seven weeks until February 8 next year. The facilities include a 1,200-square-meter outdoor skating rink (40 meters wide and 30 meters long) and a 40-meter-long sledding slope.

The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays through Sundays. The facilities are closed every Monday for regular maintenance.

For the outdoor skating rink, users must have skate sizes of at least 180mm. The sledding slope is open to anyone aged three and older.

Admission is free. Equipment rental fees are 2,000 won per session for the skating rink and 5,000 won per session for the sledding slope. Tickets can be purchased on-site.

For safety, wearing gloves is mandatory. If you do not bring gloves, you can purchase them on-site. Convenience facilities such as lounges and food trucks, as well as support facilities including ticket booths and a first aid room, are available around the skating rink and sledding slope.

Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, said, "I'm excited that we can now enjoy outdoor skating and sledding in our region. I hope many people will visit, create precious winter memories, and help make Jeollanam-do a happy place where residents can connect and communicate."

Jang Chungmo, CEO of Jeonnam Development Corporation, stated, "We have prepared the skating rink and sledding slope for the upcoming Christmas and winter season. I hope many people will come and enjoy them."
