Hanam City became the first among cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province to take the initiative in signing a business agreement with the Gyeonggi Shared School, making education the top priority of municipal administration and swiftly establishing a system for educational cooperation.
This agreement stipulates that, over the next two years, Hanam City and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will jointly promote educational support projects and the Gyeonggi Shared School policy for schools and students within Hanam, aiming to realize customized education for nurturing future talent in the region.
Under the agreement, Hanam City will identify and support the operation of school-specific educational programs tailored to local characteristics, based on existing educational support projects such as the Future Education Cooperation District. The Gwangju Hanam Office of Education will provide advice on educational support projects and assist in strengthening the capabilities of the educational community, while also cooperating in linking local educational resources through the Gyeonggi Shared School platform.
Through this agreement, Hanam City has further solidified its position as a city that implements educational cooperation policies quickly within the province, clearly advancing its vision as a future-oriented education city.
Currently, Hanam City, in cooperation with the Gwangju Hanam Office of Education, is promoting various Future Education Cooperation District projects for elementary, middle, and high school students in the city, including school specialization projects, high school specialization projects, university campus tours and corporate experiences, and operation of village experience schools.
Hanam City and the Gwangju Hanam Office of Education plan to finalize the details of support projects and budget allocations for educational cooperation through a working-level supplementary agreement following the signing, and will actively pursue the development of an educational cooperation model tailored to local conditions.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae stated, "Based on close cooperation with the Gwangju Hanam Office of Education, Hanam City will continue to expand educational support to nurture future talent with both character and competence. I expect that this business agreement will serve as an opportunity to drive qualitative growth in local education and become a turning point for Hanam City to take a leap forward as a leading education city representing Gyeonggi Province."
