This event features a stay-type outdoor program that includes trekking from the Coal Mine Housing Nuri Cube, passing through Dangol Square, Munsu Peak, and Cheonjedan, as well as camping and art performances within the Coal Mine Housing Nuri Cube.

In particular, the themed trekking to watch the sunrise from the summit of Taebaeksan Mountain on New Year's Day is the main highlight of the festival, allowing participants to start the hopeful new year while enjoying the beautiful winter scenery of Taebaeksan Mountain.

Additionally, by operating various supplementary programs, the festival aims to enhance participant satisfaction and is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy by increasing the length of visitor stays in the region.

Despite the seasonal challenge of being an outdoor winter event, more than 100 people have already registered, indicating high interest and popularity for the festival.

A Taebaek City official stated, "This is a special outdoor program where you can enjoy the snowy landscape of Taebaeksan Mountain and the New Year's sunrise together," and added, "We hope for a lot of interest and participation in this backpacking festival."

The official also said, "We will continue to discover differentiated tourism content utilizing Taebaek's natural resources throughout all four seasons."
