Achieved Top Grade in This Year's Comprehensive Integrity Assessment
Korea South-East Power has once again made history as the top public enterprise.
On December 23, Korea South-East Power was awarded the highest grade in the “2025 Comprehensive Integrity Assessment” conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
In this assessment of 709 national public institutions, Korea South-East Power achieved the highest grade (Grade 1) among 32 institutions in Group 1 of affiliated public organizations. Only two institutions, including Korea South-East Power, received Grade 1 in Group 1 of affiliated public organizations.
Compared to last year’s assessment, Korea South-East Power’s scores increased by 1.4 points in the internal and external integrity perception evaluation and by 7.7 points in the integrity effort evaluation, earning high marks overall and achieving the top grade in the comprehensive integrity assessment.
Since his appointment in November last year, Kang Kiyoon, President of Korea South-East Power, has demonstrated a strong commitment to ethical management. To this end, he established the “CEO-Led Integrity and Ethics Innovation Meeting” and has been conducting risk assessments and analyses based on the characteristics of the company’s operations.
Additionally, starting this year, the company has systematically implemented detailed strategies for key vulnerable areas such as personnel, contracts, and budgeting. These anti-corruption innovation efforts by top management are seen as having contributed to achieving the highest grade.
Notably, in June this year, Korea South-East Power received an A grade in the government management evaluation, and within the absolute evaluation, it received an S grade, earning recognition as a top performer even among A-grade institutions.
Since Kang Kiyoon’s inauguration, Korea South-East Power has consistently earned top grades in external evaluations, further establishing its reputation as an outstanding public enterprise. These achievements are attributed to President Kang’s drive and execution skills acquired as a private sector CEO, as well as his extensive policy experience gained as a two-term National Assembly member, which have been seamlessly integrated into the management of the public enterprise.
Kang Kiyoon, President of Korea South-East Power, stated, “Following this year’s government management evaluation, being selected as the top institution in the comprehensive integrity assessment as well is the result of the efforts of all our employees over the past year, and I believe this is why Korea South-East Power has earned its reputation as the leading public enterprise. Moving forward, together with all executives and employees, I will continue to pursue innovation and a spirit of challenge that breaks the mold of public enterprises, so that we do not lose our position as the best public enterprise.”
