Korea Exchange donated 100,000 briquettes to Bapsang Community Briquette Bank to support low-income vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone. At the handover ceremony, Eunbo Jung, Chairman of Korea Exchange (second from the right), took a commemorative photo with officials.
The handover ceremony was attended by Eunbo Jung, Chairman of Korea Exchange; Kibok Heo, President of the National Association of Briquette Banks; Jeongchil Kang, Head of the Busan Briquette Bank; and other officials involved in the initiative.
Through this donation, a total of 100,000 briquettes will be distributed sequentially via Bapsang Community Briquette Bank to 500 vulnerable households in Busan and Seoul, which lack proper heating facilities.
Since 2011, Korea Exchange has carried out briquette and kimchi donation programs as part of its signature winter social contribution activities. This year, the company delivered 100,000 briquettes and 26 tons of kimchi to vulnerable groups, including elderly people living alone.
Chairman Eunbo Jung stated, "I hope this act of sharing will provide some warmth to neighbors struggling with the cold," adding, "We will continue to expand the meaning of sharing through social contribution activities that support our local community whenever needed."
