Sunchang County Holds 2026 Departmental Key Business Report Meeting

Sharing 250 Implementation Plans

Sunchang County, North Jeolla Province, held a departmental key business report meeting for 2026 in the video conference room from the 23rd to the 24th, presided over by County Governor Choi Youngil, with the participation of the Deputy Governor, directors, heads of departments and offices, and team leaders.

According to the county on the 24th, the purpose of this meeting was to share the county administration’s philosophy and direction, review the operational achievements of 2025, and comprehensively discuss a total of 250 implementation plans, including key initiatives and new projects for each department in 2026.


The county took this opportunity to discuss concrete strategies for achieving administrative results in order to successfully conclude the 8th popularly elected term.


Before the work report, County Governor Choi Youngil presented the four-character idiom for the 2026 county administration, “Chakgibuju,” expressing his determination to build a “Rebounding Sunchang.”


He also emphasized that citizen-centered administration is the county’s top priority, highlighting the importance of strategic governance that residents can truly feel. At the meeting, the successful implementation and establishment of the rural basic income pilot project was set as a core strategic task, and plans were shared to realize a Sunchang-style basic social model through this initiative.


In addition, the county announced plans to accelerate the ▲Comprehensive Waterfront Development Project for Gyeongcheon and Yangjicheon Streams, ▲Establishment of Rural Study Abroad Residential Facilities, ▲Construction of Dormitories for Young Workers Linked to Local Companies, ▲Creation of a Regional Vitality Town, ▲Development of an Eco-Friendly Public Memorial Park, and ▲River Maintenance Policies for Natural Disaster Prevention, aiming to enhance the quality of life for residents.


Alongside these, County Governor Choi instructed officials to strengthen inspiring administration tailored to residents’ expectations by proactively identifying national budget and public contest projects that align with new government policies-such as attracting a racecourse following the second relocation of public institutions, installing solar power facilities (“Sunlight Pension”), and utilizing hot spring water-and by handling civil complaints in a field-oriented manner.


County Governor Choi Youngil stated, “The major policies of the 8th popularly elected term are now producing visible results, and changes in residents’ lives are beginning to take shape. Next year, I ask that all public officials work together with care and dedication to implement our planned projects so that residents can truly feel the impact of our policies.”
