Surge Begins in November... "Filling Emotional Emptiness"
Driven by Year-End Demand and Christmas Loneliness
As the year-end season approaches, sales of real dolls equipped with AI (artificial intelligence) features have seen a significant increase. The main reasons are attributed to the Christmas season demand and emotional loneliness.
On December 21 (local time), the UK media outlet The Sun reported this, citing remarks from a representative of the global real doll distributor Cloud Climax. The analysis suggests that both the year-end consumer boom and the growing demand for emotional companionship among people experiencing loneliness have contributed to this trend.
The company stated, "The period right before Christmas is always a busy time," adding, "Everything surges from the end of November. There is a particular increase in inquiries, orders, customizations, and requests such as 'I want to receive it before Christmas.'"
They further explained that AI real dolls are playing a role in alleviating emotional emptiness during the holiday season. A company representative emphasized, "Christmas can be a particularly isolating time for those who are single, bereaved, or not with family," and added, "AI real dolls can offer comfort and a sense of connection. While they cannot replace real relationships, they can certainly help ease loneliness."
With the advancement of artificial intelligence technology, the company also predicted continued growth in the related industry. There is significant potential for development in all areas, including lighter silicone bodies and joints, skeletons that can assume realistic poses, and finishing touches.
The company representative noted, "In the future, people may not simply ask, 'Does she look real?' but rather, 'Can I connect with her emotionally?' That is the next stage that both we and consumers will be focusing on going forward."
