Two S-MASTER Teams from the Department of Leisure Sports Win Awards
The S-MASTER major club from the Department of Leisure Sports at Dong-Eui University won both the Excellence Award and the Encouragement Award at the 11th National University Student Sports Tourism Idea Contest, held at the BEXCO Convention Hall on December 19.
This contest was hosted by the Korea Sports Tourism Association under the theme of "Government Strategies for Activating Sports Cities and Marine Leisure Cities." Seventeen teams from ten universities across the country participated, resulting in fierce competition.
The S-MASTER club's MILE RUN team (Kim Gyuri, Kim Daun, Kwon Minsang) was awarded the Excellence Award for presenting a policy-friendly sports tourism model that links sports activities with the local economy, under the theme "A Running Mileage-Based Local Business Coexistence Platform."
Additionally, the S-MASTER team (Park Minjeong, Jeong Jiweon, Seong Donghyeon, Jang Jiyun) received the Encouragement Award for their convergent tourism idea, "Will You Just Sit Still on the KTX?", which incorporates e-sports experiences into the travel process.
Professor Kim Jongbaek, the academic advisor, stated, "I am extremely proud that our hardworking students have received external recognition," emphasizing, "We will further strengthen the expertise of various extracurricular programs at the departmental level and systematically expand student participation."
