Gyeonggi Province Releases Camp Greaves Promotional Video Featuring Director-General
Aiming to Engage the MZ Generation and Promote DMZ Tourism Resources Including Camp Greaves

Gyeonggi Province will release an official promotional video on December 24 through its YouTube channel to showcase the spatial value and improved visitor experience of Camp Greaves, a leading tourist destination in the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone).

Camp Greaves, formerly a U.S. military facility, is a site that preserves the unique history and sense of place of the DMZ. This promotional video was planned to coincide with the completion of the Peace Garden project, which was created to enhance visitor convenience following the introduction of self-guided tours at Camp Greaves on September 30.

The video features major areas of Camp Greaves-including Gallery Greaves, Cafe Greaves, the ammunition depot, and the Peace Garden-set to hip-hop beats and street-inspired visuals. This immersive approach is designed to capture the distinctive appeal of the site and spark curiosity among potential visitors.

Notably, the video features the Director-General of Peace and Cooperation at Gyeonggi Province performing a dance routine to hip-hop music, drawing particular attention. This scene symbolically expresses the transformation of Camp Greaves from a stereotypical military facility into a modern cultural space, using the free-spirited and dynamic energy of hip-hop culture to break away from its conventional image.

Since September 30, Camp Greaves has implemented a self-guided tour system, making it one of the few DMZ attractions that visitors can explore freely. On November 15, the Peace Garden project was completed, adding new features such as a garden and rest area utilizing native DMZ plants. These changes have enabled a wider range of experiences-including exhibitions, photography, and walking-which are expected to attract more families, individual travelers, and young people, thereby revitalizing the tourist site.

Kim Taehyun, Director-General of Peace and Cooperation at Gyeonggi Province, stated, "At first, I was hesitant and worried about appearing in the promotional video, but I decided to participate because I thought it would be a unique way to promote Camp Greaves. I hope the video resonates with the younger generation and encourages many people to take interest in and visit Camp Greaves and other DMZ tourism resources."
