16 Types of KakaoTalk Emoticons Available for Free
First 50,000 Users from 2:00 p.m. on December 24
With the year-end and New Year approaching, Gwangju City is gifting citizens with emoticons to send New Year's greetings.
On December 24 at 2:00 p.m., Gwangju City will distribute 16 types of emoticons featuring its official characters, 'Bitdori·Bitnayoung,' for free through its official KakaoTalk channel. The offer is available to the first 50,000 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
These emoticons feature friendly gestures and phrases commonly used in daily conversations, such as "Happy New Year," "Cheer up," "I love you," and "Hello." They are designed for broad use, from year-end and New Year greetings to everyday messages.
To download the emoticons, users can search for the 'Gwangju City' channel on KakaoTalk and add it. Existing subscribers can download them by blocking and then re-adding the channel. The emoticons can be used for 30 days.
Park Kwangseok, spokesperson for Gwangju City, said, "I hope the Bitdori·Bitnayoung emoticons will make citizens' greetings warmer," adding, "We expect this to help our official characters naturally become a part of citizens' daily lives."
Meanwhile, since its launch in June 2019, the Gwangju City KakaoTalk channel has provided information on cultural events and major municipal news once a week and currently has about 80,000 users.
