First Korean Fashion Company to Implement Exotec’s “Skypod” System
Fast and Accurate Delivery for Over 200,000 Products
On December 24, Musinsa announced that it will partner with Exotec, a global leader in logistics automation from France, to advance its infrastructure. The company plans to introduce a system that can safely and efficiently manage its vast inventory of hundreds of thousands of fashion and accessory products, aiming to drive brand growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
Musinsa Logistics, Musinsa’s logistics subsidiary, will implement Exotec’s three-dimensional logistics solution, the “Skypod” system, at its logistics center in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, which is scheduled to officially open in the first half of next year. Musinsa is the first Korean fashion company to deploy Exotec’s Skypod solution.
This project is part of Musinsa Logistics’ logistics innovation strategy to strengthen its competitiveness in both domestic and global fashion markets. Musinsa Logistics adopted the automation solution to efficiently manage over 200,000 types of complex fashion inventory and to flexibly respond to seasonal fluctuations in logistics volume.
The Skypod system is based on three-dimensional mobile robots that can freely move across the ground and vertical spaces within a warehouse. It enables high-speed travel at up to 4 meters per second and vertical picking from racks as high as 14 meters, making it possible to increase throughput in high-rise fashion logistics centers.
With this implementation, the company plans to improve the speed and accuracy of picking and storing products, while simultaneously boosting efficiency in inventory management and workforce operations. In particular, the flexible design allows for the gradual expansion of robots in line with increasing logistics volume, enabling agile responses to future business growth.
To prevent fire accidents, system safety has also been enhanced. Exotec’s Skypod system features an “in-rack sprinkler” design, which allows sprinklers to be easily installed at 3-meter intervals inside tall racks.
Musinsa Logistics expects that this logistics system innovation will go beyond simply improving internal operational efficiency and will serve as an opportunity to deliver greater value to both partner brands and customers. By introducing an efficient automation system and innovating the Musinsa Fulfillment Service (MFS), the company can provide a logistics foundation that accelerates the growth of partner brands.
A representative from Musinsa Logistics stated, “Musinsa will continue to maintain its unrivaled competitiveness in domestic and international fashion markets and consistently innovate customer experience through ongoing investment in innovative logistics infrastructure.”
