On Wednesday, December 24th, which is also Christmas Eve, the weather across the country is expected to be mostly cloudy.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain will fall in the southern regions until the morning, and rain will continue in the eastern part of Gyeongsang and Jeju Island until the morning as well. In the east coast, Busan, Ulsan, and Jeju Island, there may be light rain of less than 0.1 mm.
The expected rainfall is 5 to 10 mm for Jeju Island and Ulleungdo·Dokdo, around 5 mm for the Jeolla region, and less than 5 mm for the Gyeongsang region. As the rain-soaked ground may freeze overnight, many areas could experience icy roads and black ice, so caution is advised for morning commuters.
As of 5 a.m., the temperatures in major regions are as follows: Seoul 3.0°C, Incheon 2.3°C, Suwon 2.7°C, Chuncheon 0.2°C, Gangneung 5.4°C, Cheongju 3.1°C, Daejeon 3.4°C, Jeonju 4.9°C, Gwangju 7.5°C, Jeju 13.3°C, Daegu 4.4°C, Busan 10.9°C, Ulsan 7.4°C, and Changwon 6.8°C. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range from 4°C to 12°C.
Fine dust concentrations are expected to remain at 'good' to 'normal' levels nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Wave heights are forecast to be 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea. In the offshore areas (up to about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights will be 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East and West Seas, and 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea.
